The Public Service Commission has established a
Job Clearing Centre to facilitate workforce adjustment while minimizing
involuntary job loss for employees. The Centre provides an opportunity for
permanent, public service employees, with priority status, to have first
consideration for job vacancies. Permanent employees are considered to
have priority status if they experience involuntary job loss due to
position abolition, layoff, permanent disability or if they require a transfer
on compassionate grounds. The Centre will operate under the authority of
the Public Service Commission Act and its
Redeployment/Transfer Policy.
